Scarce war-dated document from Union general killed in action at Atlanta

Career U.S. Army officer who served as a general in the Union Army during the American Civil War, who was killed at the Battle of Atlanta. After the war, Fort McPherson in Atlanta, Georgia, was named in his honor. War-dated DS, signed “Jms. B. McPherson, Brig. Genl. & Supt.,” one page, 8 x 10, September 22, 1862. Pay voucher issued “for materials for U. S. Military R. Road as per Original Bills,” for a total of $4,681.90. In very good condition, with tape repair to complete separation along upper horizontal fold, resulting in some slight paper loss, staining along folds and light wrinkling. Scarce in any form.
