Impressive vintage matte-finish 9.75 x 13.75 Harris & Ewing photo of a seated Stone in his judicial robe, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Claude R. Branch Esq. with regards and all good wishes, Harlan F. Stone, April 7, 1932.” The original recipient, Claude R. Branch, was a government lawyer who presented a number of cases before the Supreme Court in the 1930s and later became a judge. A touch of subtle toning to perimeter, two tiny spots of skinning to top edge (well away from image), and the subtlest suggestion of silvering to dark areas, otherwise fine, crisp, bright condition.
