One of the most consistent and durable pitchers the game has ever known, Cy Young won 511 games, nearly 100 more than any other pitcher in history. He won thirty games five times and topped twenty wins an astounding fifteen times. In 1903, he won two games in the first modern World Series to help Boston to the championship. Ballpoint signature, “Cy Young,” on an off-white 5.5 x 3.25 government postcard (postmarked 1950). In very good condition, with mild toning and soiling, crease to top edge and mounting remnants to reverse. Despite the expected postal flaws, signature measures an impressive 4.25 inches long and is quite bold. LOA Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
