Partial DS, one page, 13.5 x 8, December 12, 1839. A document, signed by Polk as Governor of Tennessee, granting a parcel of land to Gidian Freeman. Shadow box framed with a gold-inlaid, sterling silver portrait plate issued in a limited edition by the Franklin Mint in the early-to-mid 1970s, to an overall size of 34 x 18. In very good condition, with a touch of mild toning and soiling and folds (one touching signature; a few partial separations with small tape repairs).
