TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, May 17, 1957. Letter to a newspaper writer. In part, “I was highly complimented by the Editor’s note printed at the end of the piece. As you know, I do not believe in describing people still alive as we hope they will be seen in the perspective of history, but I always appreciate it when friends of mine try to do that for me.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
