Ernest H. Shackleton (1874–1922) came close to reaching the South Pole in 1909 and led a perilous 1915 expedition in which the ship Endurance was trapped in the ice; Robert F. Scott (1868–1912) led a 1901–1904 expedition in which he came within 463 miles of the South Pole, and an ill-fated 1911–1912 expedition that resulted in several deaths (including his own); Edward R. G. R. Evans (1881–1957) was Scott’s second-in-command (and one of the few survivors) of the 1911–1912 expedition. Scarce group of three vintage ink signatures, “E. H. Shackleton,” “R. Scott,” and “E. R. G. R. Evans,” on the same off-white 4.5 x 2.75 album page. A touch of mild toning at edges, subtle line of discoloration touching Evans, and faint show-through from name on reverse (away from signatures), otherwise fine condition. Very likely unique! R&R COA.
