Description

Old times: Nixon sends warm wishes to his 1960 campaign manager a year after his own resignation

ALS signed “Dick Nixon,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, September 29, 1975. Nixon writes to Len Hall, his aide and campaign manager for the 1960 presidential election. In full: “My calendar tells me that that [sic] on October 4 you will be celebrating your 75th birthday. In my book you are the youngest 75 year old I’ve ever known. Your spirit, guts, and intelligence—never show signs of age. Keep up this pace and I look forward—if I live that long—to congratulate you when your 100th birthday rolls around. Pat joins me in sending our deepest appreciation for your friendship and support over the years and our very best wishes to Gladys and to you.” Accompanied by the original transmittal envelope. A few tiny spots and very subtle smudge to one word, otherwise fine condition. LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
