DS as president, one page, 13 x 16, December 28, 1818. President Monroe appoints James Everett to the position of Chaplain in the Navy. Signed at the conclusion in black ink, in full, “James Monroe.” In very good condition, with scattered toning, mild mirroring of ink from prior documentation on top, tastefully trimmed edges and some handwritten portions of document light, but legible.
