Description

Rickey and Heydler sign off on a player transaction

After a mediocre career as a player and manager, Branch Rickey spent half a century in the front office as baseball’s greatest visionary executive. Heydler was a baseball umpire in the 1890s who later became the president of the National League. DS, two pages both sides, 8.5 x 11, December 17, 1932. National League Players Contract between the Cincinnati Baseball Club and Owen T. Carroll, assigning him to St. Louis, signed on the docket in fountain pen by both Branch Rickey and National League president John Heydler. In very good condition, with scattered light toning and handling wear and Rickey’s signature somewhat cramped. LOA Steve Grad/PSA/DNA, LOA James Spence and R&R COA.
