LS signed “Wm. H. Harrison,” one page, 7.75 x 9.75, November 9, 1794. A retained copy of a letter related to the resignations of two ensigns. In part: “Ensign William Daingerfield … and Ensign Thomas Lewis … having requested permission to resign their commissions and command in the Legion of the United States, the said resignations are hereby accepted. The Paymaster General will settle their accounts and pay them up to the 1 day of December next….” In very good condition, with splitting along folds (some tape-reinforced from reverse showing through to the front), small loss to top margin affecting one word, and a few chips and small tears.
