Hand-addressed free franked envelope, addressed in Van Buren’s hand to “Mr. Jeremiah Colburne, Boston,” and franked in the top right, “Free, M. Van Buren.” Envelope bears a Kinderhook, New York postmark dated May 24, with “1856” penciled in in another hand. In very fine condition, with a bit of scattered light soiling.
