Lawyer and statesman (1721–1793) who earned a special niche in history as the only person to sign four of the central documents of American sovereignty: the Continental Association of 1774, the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the Constitution. DS, one page, 7.5 x 12.5, August 4, 1764. Document filled out and signed seven times by Sherman, six times within the text and once on the docket on reverse. Document is his deed for land bought from John Pierpont. Sherman has written eleven lines of text describing the land.
