Vintage ballpoint signature, “Pele,” on a lightly lined off-white 5.75 x 3.5 slip (affixed to a slightly larger slip) that has also been signed by fourteen other members of the Santos (São Paulo, Brazil) Football Club. The slip bears the ink notation in another hand, “FC Santos” and the date June 26, 1961. In March of the same year, Pele, then just twenty years old, scored a goal so spectacular that a plaque was specially dedicated “to the most beautiful goal in the history of the Maracanã.” An unsigned magazine photo is affixed to the reverse. Collector’s ink notation and slip affixed as noted above, otherwise fine condition. LOA Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
