“My heart was ablaze with joy for my success in getting the whole main forces of the American Pacific Fleet in hand”

One of Japan’s most skilled fliers, Fuchida (1902–1976) commanded the air attack against Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and was the last to leave the battle area. After World War II, Fuchida converted to Christianity and became a nondenominational preacher, traveling frequently to America and later becoming a U.S. citizen. Signed book: From Pearl Harbor to Golgotha. First edition. San Jose: Sky Pilots Press, 1953. Hardcover with dustjacket, 5.5 x 7.5, 94 pages. Signed in ballpoint on the front free end page, “Mitsuo Fuchida, Luke 23:34, Feb. 7, 1957,” Fuchida also adding his name in Japanese characters. In fine condition, with previous owner’s ink name and mild scattered toning and soiling to interior, and soiling and chipping to jacket. R&R COA.
