Scarce and outstanding glossy 9.75 x 7.5 team photo titled “New York Yankees Baseball Team World Champions 1937,” signed in ink on their images by twenty-three members of the 1937 World Champion New York Yankees, Signers are: Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, George Selkirk, Frank Crosetti, Art Jorgens, Kemp Wicker, Myril Hoag, Earl Schieb, Don Heffner, Jack Saltzgaver, Tom Henrich, Joe Vance, Red Rolfe, Johnny Murphy, Frank Makowsky, Paul Andrews, Bump Hadley, Charlie Ruffing, Jake Powell, Art Fletcher, Dutch Schulte, Joe Glenn and Pat Malone. Photo bears clubhouse signatures of Joe McCarthy, Earle Combs, Lefty Gomez, Bill Dickey and Tony Lazzeri. Matted and framed to an overall size of 15 x 13. The Yankees won four straight World Championships from 1936-39, winning the pennant races by nineteen-and-a-half, thirteen, nine, and seventeen games, respectively. They scored more than or close to a thousand runs in each of the four seasons with a brutal batting order that consisted of Gehrig, Lazzeri, catcher Bill Dickey, and a talented and charismatic new outfielder named Joe DiMaggio.
