King of Great Britain and Ireland who ruled from 1760 until his death. His reign was marked most notably by the loss of British control over the American colonies. His advancing mental illness rendered him unable to fulfill his official duties during the last decade of his life, during which time the Prince Regent, William IV, ruled in his stead. Partially printed DS, signed “George R,” one page on vellum, 16 x 10.5, November 27, 1760. A military commission for Captain James Mansergh in the 8th Dragoons, signed at top left. Signature just a shade light and some very mild scattered soiling, otherwise fine and bright. R&R COA.
