Combs was an ideal leadoff hitter for the legendary Yankee teams of the 1920s and early 1930s. A keen-eyed center fielder, he averaged nearly 200 hits and 70 walks a season during his prime years, helping him compile a .325 career batting mark. One-of-a-kind original pastel and watercolor portrait, 3.75 x 6.25, of Combs in his Yankee jersey and cap. Signed in the lower border in pencil by Combs and also signed by the artist Jim Bliss. Matted and framed to an overall size of 8.5 x 11. In fine condition. COA Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
