In part: “I am so sorry over Mr. Schuritz. He was such a wonderful man. I love you & your family too. Lucille sent her love to you all…. I am finished with my sickness. And am blowing better thanks to you all’s Louis Armstrong Lip Salve…. Any amount of salve you should prepare for me—just send to me a notice in advance…. Again, may our dear friend Mr. Schuritz, rest in peace & I shall love him all of my life.” Louis has also added the notation “[Thank you] for everything, Satchmo” on the front panel.
