The Signer as lawyer

Lawyer and statesman (1721–1793) who earned a special niche in history as the only person to sign four of the central documents of American sovereignty: the Continental Association of 1774, the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the Constitution. Manuscript DS, signed twice by Sherman “Johnson & Sherman,” one page both sides, 8.25 x 5, 1757. A legal document filed in Litchfield County [Connecticut] Court relating to the arrest of the defendant in a pending case. Accompanied by a typescript on Lincoln Library letterhead. In fine condition, with a few ink blots, light scattered soiling and wrinkling, and small hole to blank margin. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
