Fantastic TLS signed “Thos. A. Edison,” one page, 8.5 x 7.25, personal laboratory letterhead, July 20, 1920. Edison writes to Commodore E. C. Benedict. In part: “A young man like you ought to be up-to-date and own an Edison Disc Phonograph and not a common talking machine like the Victor. My suggestion to you is to hear and buy from an Edison dealer and you will learn something about the reproduction of real music.” Letters in which Edison drops the “V-bomb,” especially in such a directly derogatory fashion, are of the greatest interest and scarcity! In fine condition, possibly trimmed from a larger size, with mild toning to top half of letter and one light mailing fold through signature. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
