In full, “You have my full permission to reprint Cross Country Snow in the new World Ski Book or to quote from it to any extent you wish. We skied at Cortina D’ampezzo this winter but it was short of snow after the middle of January and the February and March fall never came. It was a bad winter altogether in Europe for skiing, I believe, except in spots.” Nicely signed at the conclusion in blue ink, “Ernest Hemingway.” Cloth matted and framed with a portrait of the writer, to an overall size of 16 x 25.5. An especially bold and striking signature, making this an exceptional piece for display! Accompanied by a TLS from Charles Scribner’s secretary, dated December 20, 1949, written to the publishing representative informing him they have received a signed copy of the World Ski Book for Hemingway.
