Chamber,” on a 5.5 x 3.5 album page, June 7, 1836. Clay inscribes the autograph book of Miss Josephine Mitchell. In full: “I comply with great pleasure with your request in subscribing my name to your album, regretting only that I have not something else to offer more worthy of your acceptance.” In fine condition, with a touch of mild toning and soiling.
