Roosevelt has boldly signed the frontispiece photo, which features him in his Rough Rider uniform; the signature is further authenticated by the printed tissue guard, which notes that the photo is “signed in autograph.” The book, a combined edition of two of Roosevelt’s earlier volumes on hunting, is illustrated throughout with original etchings and engravings by such notable artists of the day as Frederic Remington, A. B. Frost, and others. Library bookplate to inside front cover, adhesive remnant to front blank, otherwise in clean, fine condition. A superb example of Roosevelt in his most desirable pose.
