Signed book: The Smithsonian Collection of Newspaper Comics. Washington, D. C.: Smithsonian Press, 1988. Hardcover with dustjacket, 11.5 x 14.5, 336 pages. Book is highlighted by six wonderful signed sketches as follows: a great full-length felt tip sketch of Snoopy signed and inscribed “To the Austins, Schulz,” on the inside front cover; a signed and inscribed ink sketch of Cathy and her dog, signed by Cathy Guisewite and dated June 23, 1998, on the first free end page; a signed and inscribed ink sketch of Dennis the Menace by Hank Ketchum and a color signed and inscribed felt tip sketch of Barney Google and Snuffy Smith on the dedication page; a large signed and inscribed felt tip sketch of Billy from the Family Circus, signed by Bill Keane on the last free end page and dated May 28, 1998; and a signed and inscribed pencil and ink sketch of a BC caveman on a turtle, signed and inscribed to the Austins by Johnny Hart. In very fine condition. Great piece with six original sketches. R&R COA.
