Pseudonym of prominent Danish author Karen Blixen (1885–1962), best known for her account of life in Kenya, Out of Africa, which was adapted into an Academy Award–winning film. Vintage glossy 5.5 x 3.5 photo of Blixen sitting between Marilyn Monroe and Carson McCullers, signed in blue ink on the reverse (as “Karen Blixen”) with a sentiment in Afrikaans and dated 1960. Blixen has also added the names of the three women in the photo (including her own signature) and notes that the image was taken in New York in 1959. In very good condition, with bends, dings, a few edge tears, and light scattered soiling, scarcely affecting the writing, which remains clear and bold. R&R COA.
