Description

British author (1849–1924) of such children’s classics as The Secret Garden and Little Lord Fauntleroy. Signed handwritten souvenir quotation from the story “The Tinker’s Tom” (from the book Giovanni and the Others) on an off-white 5 x 3 card. In full: “And when one does not know positively, it is so much pleasanter to believe a good thing than a bad one. It may not be as sharp but I am sure it is better, & makes one happier & perhaps better oneself & less capable of evil.” In fine condition, with a touch of faint soiling and slight blotting to one word.
