Your thoughts and mine run parallel in so many ways I’m keeping your suggestions in my desk. I was very interested to see where McCheney Martin advocated an immediate balancing of the budget but feel [sic] we could delay in starting to reduce the debt. In fact his whole point was to the concern you expressed that we could return to fiscal sanity without violent ec[onomic] upheaval.” In fine condition, with irregular top edge (well away from text and easily matted out) and red pen mark through body of letter, away from signature.
