Hitler’s personal pilot. During the final days of World War II, Baur tried to convince Hitler to let him be flown out of Berlin; Hitler refused and thanked Baur for his long, faithful service. Baur then attempted to flee Berlin, and lost a leg in the attempt. A prisoner of the Russians until 1955, he died in 1993. Lot of eleven signed items consisting of five signed photos of Baur, including three posing with Hitler, ranging in size from 5 x 3.5 up to 8 x 10, each signed in blue or black felt tip; a commemorative cover signed in blue felt tip by Baur as well as Ernst Zindel; a one page souvenir typescript from Baur’s book, signed at the conclusion in blue felt tip; and an ALS from 1977 on the reverse of a color picture postcard of Germany.
