ALS signed “Tom,” one page on the correspondence side of a 5.75 x 4 postcard featuring a view of the cathedral in Florence, no date [postmarked November 13, 1965]. Benton writes to well-known columnist Leonard Lyons at the New York Post. In part: “After having worked at wax sculpting for five weeks (one little figure accomplished) we are now turned tourist…. This is a great (3d visit) inexhaustible place for an old painter who still knows he has a lot to learn.” In very good condition, with light toning and scattered soiling, a few light bends, small ink notation in another hand, and several small blots and light brushes to writing (including signature).
