Polish pianist, composer, and politician (1860–1941) whose abounding talent and personal magnetism made him one of the most popular virtuosi of all time. In a career move that remains unique in the annals of classical music, Paderewski served for a year (1919) as Prime Minister of Poland before resuming an ultra-successful career as a concert artist. Penetrating vintage matte-finish 7.25 x 9.5 photo on a 10 x 12.75 mount, signed and inscribed on the mount in fountain pen, “I. J. Paderewski, 29/XI 1915.” Matted and framed to an overall size of 13.5 x 16.5.
