Scarce signed photo of the big-band legend who vanished into thin air

Popular big band leader. In 1942, Miller joined the U.S. Air Force and organized the Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band to entertain the troops. In December 1944, on a flight from England to Paris, the plane Miller was traveling in disappeared over the English Channel and was never found. Scarce sepia glossy 8 x 10 photo of the smiling Miller holding his trombone, signed in fountain pen, “Sincerely, Glenn Miller.” Accompanied by the original “Glenn Miller Orchestra” mailing envelope, postmarked February 16, 1942. In fine condition, with marginal trimming, a few dings and surface impressions, and scattered faint, unobtrusive discolorations to background. R&R COA.
