Legendary Chinese-American martial arts artist and actor (1940–1973) whose skill, charisma, and presence afforded martial arts films a new measure of respectability and popularity. His untimely death “by misadventure” sparked all manner of speculation, including rumors of assassination, ancestral curses, and more. Original shooting script from an episode of the television show The Green Hornet titled “The Ray is for Killing,” 1966, brad-bound softcover, 8.5 x 11, 36 pages. This was Lee’s own script, as he has signed his name on the cover in green ink (naturally!), and his character’s lines and cues are underlined throughout in the same ink; on one page he has written, “Kato takes out dart.” This episode of the show, which concerned a million-dollar art heist, was the ninth episode of the series and first aired on November 11, 1966. For most Americans, “The Green Hornet” provided the first glimpse of Lee in (albeit TV-friendly) action. Within the space of a few years, he would become a powerhouse film attraction—and, with his untimely passing, would enter the realm of legend. In fine condition, with a few very subtle bends to cover and a hint of scattered toning. PSA/DNA COA and R&R COA.
