Description

Wilson takes the blame for a misdirected letter to the missus: “I must now myself reply to it because through my own oversight, it was covered up in a pile of letters”

TLS, one page, 4.5 x 7.25, personal letterhead, August 4, 1912. Wilson writes to Mrs. W. C. Tyler in Los Angeles. In part: “Your letter of July eighth addressed to Mrs. Wilson arrived in due course of mail and if it had been handed to her, she would have replied to it at once…. It was covered up in a pile of letters, the replies to which I was obliged, because of pressure of business, to postpone. The apology should come therefore not from her but from myself. She is very much distressed that the oversight should have occurred and begs me to convey to you her warm appreciation … of the plans being formed for the Women’s Democratic League.” In fine condition, with usual folds, trimmed edges, mild toning and wrinkling, and small marginal spot of soiling. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
