King of France from 1824 to 1830 whose attempt to restore absolute rule led to his overthrow in the July Revolution. ALS in French, signed “Charles,” one page, 5.75 x 8, February 24, 1832. An untranslated letter, written from Edinburgh to Louts[?] & Co., acknowledging receipt of a previous letter from the firm and evidently involving a business transaction. In very good condition, with scattered folds and wrinkles, light soiling, and marginal tape stains (one touching signature). R&R COA.
