ALS signed “J.,” one page on the correspondence side of a 5.75 x 4 postcard, November or December 1952. Kennedy, who had just won his first senatorial race, pens a note to Gisela Sievers. In full: “Gisela—You are greatly missed by all.” Sievers, a translator that Kennedy had met while in Europe (the postcard is postmarked Hounslow, Middlesex, England), was the friend of Torbert MacDonald, Kennedy’s Harvard roommate—and, reportedly, an alternate object of affection for JFK at a time when he had already begun to see Jaqueline Bouvier. At the time of writing, Kennedy had just triumphed in his first—and grueling—Senate campaign, and was likely in Europe for a well-deserved vacation. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Profiles in History. In very good condition, with a touch of edge wear and some scattered mild soiling, a few faint spots (away from writing), and a heavy corner crease away from all writing. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
