Description

No stranger to tragedy, Jackie writes to her riding instructor attempting to assist a woman who had a series of miscarriages

ALS signed “Jackie,” one page both sides, 5.75 x 7.75, personal letterhead, no date. Letter to Scott Milne, a horse trainer and personal riding instructor to Jackie. In full, “Mrs Heddin told me about a girl out here nearby Clark Rd. Andrea Joyce. She’s a really good rider (I think) has just moved here & is very depressed because she’s had a series of miscarriages. Her Aunt…whom I knew years ago, drove her around & when she saw all the horses - the Aunt thought it might cheer her up to exercise some for people (no charge) & Andrea loves the idea too. If you know anyone who she could help out - would you call Mrs. Traphagen 455-0740 & get Andrea’s number. I feel sorry for the girl & certainly agree that riding can help if you’re sad. I’d feel guilty if I didn’t leave you this info.” Accompanied by the original transmittal envelope, addressed in Kennedy’s hand “Scott.” Accompanied by a color copy of an 8 x 10 photograph of Jackie on Be Frank at the 1992 Essex Hunter Trials talking to Milne. In fine condition, with a bisecting horizontal fold and slight showthrough from text on reverse. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
