Historic Articles of Impeachment signed by Clinton

Souvenir typescript, five pages, 5.75 x 6.25, signed across the top of the first page in black ink, “Bill Clinton.” A transcript of House Resolution 611, The Articles of Impeachment Against William Jefferson Clinton. The resolution reads, “Resolved, That William Jefferson Clinton, President of the United States, is impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors, and that the following articles of impeachment be exhibited to the United States Senate: Articles of impeachment exhibited by the House of Representatives of the United States of America in the name of itself and of the people of the United States of America, against William Jefferson Clinton, President of the United States of America, in maintenance and support of its impeachment against him for high crimes and misdemeanors.” In the history of the United States there been three Presidential impeachment proceedings: in 1868 against President Andrew Johnson for his removal of Secretary of War Edwin Stanton in violation of the Tenure of Office Act; in 1974 against President Richard Nixon for the Watergate cover-up (106 years after Johnson); and 1998-99 against President Bill Clinton for concealing an extramarital affair (24 years after Nixon).
