Autograph note, one page, 8.5 x 11, November 22, 1960. A letter to president-elect Kennedy from Dave Iwerks, which reads, in part: “I had the privilege to do some formal portraits of you at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, of which you received a copy some time ago. I have also photographed Lyndon Johnson and the Republican candidates during the campaign months. As soon as your cabinet is chosen, I would like to do some formal portrait studies on each.” Kennedy has boldly written (to his secretary) in black marker on the lower half of the page: “Tell him that this must be a decision for each cabinet member individually - also that the picture he sent was very good.” Accompanied by the John F. Kennedy Auction tag from Guernsey’s in NYC, 1998, which is lightly affixed to a photocopy of the letter of response to Iwerks from Kennedy’s secretary, Evelyn Lincoln. In fine condition, with typical toning, office notations, scattered light creasing and adhesive residue to the top edge. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
