ALS signed “Henry W. Longfellow,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.25 x 7, August 16, 1860. In part: “I have had the pleasure of receiving your Christmas Dreams which has been forwarded to me at this address and for which I should have thanked you sooner, but for the heat and the summer flittings to and fro. I have your little volume with pleasure and interest and like particularly its tender and humane spirits. You have my best wishes for its success.” In very good condition, with light show through from reverse of first page, mild toning. A Christmas Dream, by James T. Brady, published in 1860. Now out of print, it is a scarce little volume with only one copy located in U.S. libraries or institutions. R&R COA.
