Vintage Toscanini newspaper portrait

Italian conductor. During his lengthy career, Toscanini was the Musical Director of Las Scala in Milan, and conductor of the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Vintage profile portrait, 8 x 9.25, from a newspaper, signed “Arturo Toscanini, 32-2-1936” in fountain pen. The legend beneath the portrait reads “Who Begins his tenth season with the Philharmoic-Symphony Orchestra Thursday evening.” In very good condition, with toning, minor edge wear, trivial soling, adhesive tape repairs on reverse. One of the recordings considered among his best is Beethoven, Symphony No. 7 from 1936, Philharmonic-Symphony of New York. R&R COA.
