Description

Wonderful lot of seven vintage signatures of the 20th century’s most respected violinists, each on a separate, white 5 x 3 page. Included: Isaac Stern, who pens and signs the opening of a piece, and writes” To Arthur Howard, Bach Chaconne, with best wishes, Isaac Stern, Salt Lek, Feb. 19, 1944”; David Rubinoff, who writes “To Arthur Howard, Salt Lake City, Rubinoff and his Violin, Oct. 10” and also pens the opening bars of an unidentified piece; “With best greetings to Arthur Howard, Yehudi Menuhin, Salt Lake City, Oct. 31, 1937”; “To Mr. Arthur L. Howard, with my best wishes, Jascha Heifetz, Salt Lake, Jan. 14, 1935”; Fritz Kreisler, who adds, “Salt Lake City, Jan. 14, 1937”; another, earlier, Jascha Heifetz, dated “January 8, 1925”; and Arthur Rubinstein, inscribed to Howard, adding “Salt Lake City, Apr. 8, 1946.” In overall fine condition, with traces of adhesive to edges and neatly typed collector’s notations, small punch holes to left margin.
