Marilyn has also added her address, 611 North Crescent Drive, where she lived in 1951 and 1952. Schwab’s was the legendary Sunset Boulevard drugstore that became famous as a gathering place for young Hollywood hopefuls, and, in one of the most durable examples of erroneous Tinseltown lore, the place where Lana Turner was “discovered” (though it was actually at the Top Hat Cafe). Marilyn was indeed one of those who frequented Schwab’s, and, according to The Unabridged Marilyn (1987), she was lunching there in 1949 when she learned about auditions for a bit part in the Marx Brothers comedy Love Happy—a role she won. October 1951 was the month of release for Love Nest, a comedy in which Marilyn appeared with June Haver, William Lundigan, and Frank Fay. In very good condition, with usual punch cancellations (well away from signature) and bank stamps.
