Description

Cash and carry! A lovingly preserved Harlow signature

Film legend who brought charm and a seeming cognizance of sexuality to comedies during the 1930s, becoming the model of feminine sexuality in films for the next decade. Her films include Platinum Blonde, Red Dust, Bombshell, Dinner at Eight and Saratoga. She died of uremic poisoning at 26. Scarce vintage fountain pen signature and inscription, “To Betty, With every good wish, Sincerely, Jean Harlow,” on an off-white 7.25 x 4 sheet of Waterstradt’s Cash and Carry Grocery note paper. Signature is affixed to a 10.5 x 16 scrapbook page, nicely bordered by two clipped photos of Harlow, and part of a larger scrapbook filled with scores of clipped photos of Harlow from her films, with her co-stars and by herself. An even shade of overall toning and some mild rippling from adhesive on reverse, otherwise fine condition. PSA/DNA COA and R&R COA.
