TLS signed “Hitch” in pencil, one page, 6 x 8.5, personal letterhead, August 15, 1978. A letter to the photographer Tom Nebbia, who took the photo displayed here. In full: “Dear Tom [in Hitchcock’s hand], Madame and I send our warmest appreciation of your most welcome birthday flowers, and we do thank you very much indeed.” Handsomely matted and framed with an unusual color portrait of Hitchcock holding a rectangular magnifying glass to his eye to an overall size of 13.5 x 26. The letter appears to be protected by plastic; we have not dismantled the presenation. In fine condition, with a pencilled phone number at page bottom partially erased. Tom Nebbia began his career during the Korean war are as a U.S. Army combat photographer. He has freelanced for the world's leading magazines, including National Geographic, Life ,Time, Stern, Paris Match and others.
