Description

TLS signed “Hitch” in pencil, one page, 6 x 8.5, personal letterhead, August 15, 1978. A letter to the photographer Tom Nebbia, who took the photo displayed here. In full: “Dear Tom [in Hitchcock’s hand], Madame and I send our warmest appreciation of your most welcome birthday flowers, and we do thank you very much indeed.” Handsomely matted and framed with an unusual color portrait of Hitchcock holding a rectangular magnifying glass to his eye to an overall size of 13.5 x 26. The letter appears to be protected by plastic; we have not dismantled the presenation. In fine condition, with a pencilled phone number at page bottom partially erased. Tom Nebbia began his career during the Korean war are as a U.S. Army combat photographer. He has freelanced for the world's leading magazines, including National Geographic, Life ,Time, Stern, Paris Match and others. The photo was taken at the Master of Suspense’s Hollywood office, circa 1978.PSA/DNA COA and R&R COA. Oversized.
