Interesting archive of thirty-five greeting cards from the estate of Soviet Army General G.A. Borisov. These cards were sent to the General by top level commanders of the Soviet Army from the Khruschov/Brezhnev/Gorbachev period and were signed by Marshals (highest rank in the Soviet army), some of them were heads of the Russian Department of Defense. Included: Akhromoeyev, Sokolov, Ustinov, Yazov, Grechko, Ogarkov, Kulikov (Head of the Warsaw Pact troops). Many of the signers were also important WWII commanders. The “new” generation of the commanders of the Soviet Army came only during the late Gorbachev period. Some of the cards are also signed by “less important” VIPs, such as ambassadors, military attaches from other countries, etc. In overall fine condition. The greeting cards were issued for all kinds of holidays, including May Day, Soviet Army Day, The New Year, etc. Such archives are scarce. R&R COA.
