Preeminent American satirical cartoonist, renowned for his work at Mad Magazine. Original signed ink sketches on an off-white 8.5 x 9 hard artist board with rare hand drawings on both sides, each side signed “D. Martin.” Classic Martin imagery, from the John Francis Putnam Collection (Mad’s art director). Images on the board include various geometrical patterns, a spider, flowers, an undulating chair, potted plants, a window, a small face, bed posts, very reminiscent of Mad’s implosive/explosive sensibility. In fine condition, with a “John Francis Putnam” label affixed to a blank area of one side, couple of areas of paper loss. R&R COA.
