One of Tracy’s first contracts, dated from his first year in Hollywood

DS, fourteen pages, 8.5 x 11, December 1, 1930. Agreement between Fox Films and Tracy, employing “the artist to render his services exclusively to the producer for a period of one year for the sum of $750 per week,” with Tracy receiving an advance of $4,500. Tracy and Fox also reserve the right for yearly extensions, with his top salary being $2500 per week after four years. The employer also agrees to furnish transportation, wardrobe, etc. Boldly signed “Spencer Tracy” on page 14 with a notarization at the bottom. Tracy adds his initials to one page as well. Accompanied by three additional pages of related information, bearing Tracy’s secretarial signature. In very good condition, with expected document wear (toning, edge chipping) and the pages a bit fragile from age. PSA/DNA COA and R&R COA.
