Unique Beauregard CDV, bearing a war-dated signature, and signed again as an “Ex-Gen. CSA.”

Brigadier General of the Confederate Provisional Army, placed in command at Charleston, where he ordered the bombardment of Fort Sumter. Original CDV, 2.5 x 4, by Washburn’s Studio of New Orleans, signed on the portrait side in black ink, “G. T. Beauregard, 1865,” and also signed again on the reverse at a later date, “G. T. Beauregard, Ex-Gen. CSA, New Orleans, LA. Nov. 24, 1887.” In fine condition, with a small mounting remnant along top edge of reverse, not affecting either signature.
