A formal letter of state to “His excellency, The President of the Republic of Peru.” In part, “I have made the choice of Miles Pointdexter…to reside near the Government of Your Excellency in the quality of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America.” In very good condition, with scattered toning and soiling, not affecting signature, punch holes to left edge and a bisecting horizontal fold.
