Description

The “Scarecrow of Oz” packs heat in the name of entertainment: “I intended to revive some of my old comedy routines.... I went out and bought an old German Mauser from World War I”

ALS signed “Ray,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, September 18, 1979. A letter to a friend sending thanks and discussing a live performance. In part: “I was all set to go to Bogie Busters this year. I intended to revive some of my old comedy routines for a switch. I couldn’t find my gun for Sad Sack so I went out and bought an old German Mauser from World War I. It weighed a ton but I was still able to do the routine.” In fine condition, with usual mailing folds, well away from signature. R&R COA.
